Raw Tanzanite Nugget Drop Earrings in 18K Gold

Two raw tanzanite nuggets hang from each ear, left in their natural faceted-rough form rather than cut into a uniform shape. Fine gold wire wraps each stone at the top, holding it securely while leaving the rest of its surface exposed to catch the light. Tanzanite's violet-blue colour shifts depending on the angle it's viewed from, which the irregular cut only makes more noticeable. A raw, unpolished take on drop earrings for someone drawn to the stone itself over a formal setting.

Tanzanite is mined in only one part of the world, and leaving a stone this size in its rough form is a deliberate choice to show the mineral as it comes out of the ground rather than after full faceting. Wire-wrapped by hand at Qala's Jaipur workshop, each nugget's wrap follows its own irregular shape. A drop earring that wears its rawness openly.
